Hydrometer Analysis of Soil | Sedimentation Analysis | GSD | Classification of Soil | Pawan Kumar

The hydrometer method is used to determine the particle size distribution of fine-grained soils passing through 75-micron sieve. It is one of the commonly used methods to accurately determine particle size distribution of a soil sample. Hydrometer analysis uses Stokes' law to calculate the size of soil particles from the speed at which they separate from liquid suspension. #soiltesting #geotechnicalengineering #civilengineering #soilmechanics #geology #geotech #geotechnical Behind the Camera : P V Pavan Kumar (‪@pavandearkumar‬ ) Video highlights How is hydrometer analysis of soil calculated?
