A better insulated hive lid for better year round colony performance
These insulated hive lids with integrated feeding shims are awesome. I have been making these insulated lids for a few years and really enjoy using them. So when I came across more scrap foam insulation it was time to make another batch. This twist this time is adding reflextix to the underside of the foam and sides. I'm pretty excited about the improvement. I found the scrap materials in the summer and fall but the holiday rush stalled out the construction project ironically until after winter.
