Esterillos Oeste is a tranquil beach located in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica, within the canton of Parrita, Puntarenas Province. The beach is easily accessible year-round and offers various recreational activities such as surfing, snorkeling, diving, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, and camping. The area is well-equipped with accommodations and has a runway for small aircraft. The Caletas of Esterillos Oeste are natural pools that form at low tide, offering an oasis of calm, crystal-clear waters. 🧜‍♀️ La Sirena – A Symbol of Local Culture “La Sirena” is a bronze sculpture of a mermaid created by local artist Albino Valverde. The statue sits on rocks facing the ocean, and during high tide, the water covers its pedestal, making it appear as though the mermaid is emerging from the sea. This iconic monument has become a symbol of the community and a popular tourist attraction. The sculpture was recently restored after being displaced by strong waves. Community efforts led by Fernando Mora Jiménez, a local fisherman, and his family, along with support from local businesses and authorities, successfully returned the statue to its original position.
