Univox EC80A through DEMO through 1966 Twin Reverb w Custom Strat

Just got this new toy for $250 at a local music shop, which seems to be a little on the higher side of what these normally go for, but this one is in great shape, appears to have the original tape (HP-407 upon closer inspection, not HF, I'm blind as a bat!) and works perfectly. These are normally incredibly unreliable and quirky. I've heard some that "warble" very badly and heard stories about many others with problems. This one is in great shape and seems to be rock solid....tone is consistent and very gritty/dirty (what you want from tape, right?) I have a Danelectro "Reel Echo" tape echo simulator, which is supposedly very good at re-creating the echoplex....it's close, probably better than a DL4 just for tape each....but NOTHING like the saturation, grittiness and cool effects you can get from real tape. This box will live in my studio and will be used strictly as an echo send on an aux bus. I plan to get very high one of these days and pretend like I'm King Tubby. LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!!!!!!!
