Modified Sign Language For Autism | Nonverbal Autism and Sign
This is how she talks. My nonverbal daughter on the autism spectrum uses modified sign language to communicate many of her wants and needs. Autistic people often use sign language when communicating but motor skills can hinder those signs so sometimes modified sign language is used. The problem with modified sign is the person that relies on it can only use their sign with people that are familiar with it.
