Open My Eyes, That I May See (Weekly Hymn Project)

Today's hymn is "Open My Eyes, That I May See". As I was recording this hymn, I got a good take fairly quickly and was all ready to move on - till I got listening to the words in the audio recording and realized that I just repeated the first refrain instead of having the slight variation of eyes, ears, and heart. So, had to record it again. But I didn't mind as it's such a good hymn. It almost sounds like a hymn you could sing before reading the Bible. May our minds and hearts receive the truth and then, Lord, guide our mouths in sharing it. Lyrics: Open my eyes, that I may see Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me; Place in my hands the wonderful key That shall unclasp and set me free. Silently now I wait for Thee, Ready my God, Thy will to see, Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine! Open my ears, that I may hear Voices of truth Thou sendest clear; And while the wave notes fall on my ear, Everything false will disappear. Silently now I wait for Thee, Ready my God, Thy will to see, Open my ears, illumine me, Spirit divine! Open my mouth, and let me bear, Gladly the warm truth everywhere; Open my heart and let me prepare Love with Thy children thus to share. Silently now I wait for Thee, Ready my God, Thy will to see, Open my heart, illumine me, Spirit divine! Words and Music By: Clara H. Scott
