DON'T DO THIS on Mt Batur, Bali

This was my biggest personal challenge yet! This weekend some friends and I took trip up to Kintamani in the center of Bali which is home to the famous Mt Batur. Mt Batur is Bali's second largest active volcano and sits at over 1700 meters in height. Many people choose to come and hike Mt Batur for stunning sunrise views of the surrounding beauty, but not us.. we chose to RUN OVER IT! This weekend we entered the BTR ULTRA 15km run over Mt Batur, there are 4 run classes, 7km, 15km, 30km and a whopping 55km (which one of my friends bravely or stupidly did) When signing up for this i knew that it was going to be a huge challenge for myself but as the days crept closer doubt began to creep in. Could i actually finish this race in the allocated time, would i need rescuing from half way up an active volcano, would i ever be seen again!?
