Adult Gymnastics - Intermediate handstand drills and how to fall out safely

Welcome to week 6 of Sydney Hills Gymnastics online videos! We hope you have been keeping up with our previous gymnastics training videos to put you in great shape for when we return to the gym floor. In this video we start to get into our full handstand against the wall and improve our handstand strength. We also learn how to fall out of our handstand safely before we start transitioning away from the wall. *Please make sure you read the safety slide BEFORE attempting any of the exercises. It is advisable that you watch the video at least once to familiarise yourself with the correct form of each exercise. Equipment required: Wall Here is the program for the class: Warm-up routine including stretching and basic conditioning: This warmup will prepare you so you are ready for your handstand work today focussing on keeping the core tight and the shoulders fully extended. Skills Full handstand against the wall Front support walk ins 3x3 seconds Shoulder touches in tuck handstand 3x10 Inverted shrugs 3x10 Handstand hold 20-30 seconds each time Getting out of a handstand safely Handstand step down Handstand forward roll Handstand fall to bridge Handstand pivot step down Bunny hop to tuck handstand Pivot from wall Make sure you listen closely as our coaches give specific instructions and keep points to focus on during the skills to ensure you're able to complete these to the best and safest of your ability.
