GOOSE BREAST TEST We're taking a closer look at roast goose with the help of a professional. How good are the goose breasts from EDEKA, Rewe, and Kaufland? The first thing we notice is that the goose breasts are from last year, some even from 2022. According to experts, however, they can be kept that long if the cold chain is maintained – which we hope is the case. Not all the goose breasts look fresh, though – the long period of freezing temperatures is definitely taking its toll. WHITE MULLED WINE IS TREND Besides the classic red mulled wine, white mulled wine is also enjoying increasing popularity. We're testing inexpensive, expensive, and organic mulled wines. Color can also be an indicator of quality – the lighter a white mulled wine is, the fresher it can be. However, one thing that shouldn't be overlooked is the sugar content. A 0.2 cl cup, like the kind you usually get at Christmas markets, has twice as many calories as the same amount of cola. Mulled wine is a real sugar bomb. And with the alcohol on top, it's also a calorie bomb. WHAT MAKES A GOOD CHRISTMAS STAND? Those for whom a Christmas tree is an essential part of Christmas are certainly familiar with the stand dilemma. Usually, the stand doesn't fit the tree, and you end up sawing and screwing until the fir finally sits properly. But which Christmas tree stand causes the least hassle?
