AJS '71 Scrambler: Mike Jackson the Desert King
In this short film, our sister company Flat-Out Creative tells the story of Mike Jackson, an unassuming Englishman working out in the USA during the 1960s and 70s. This experienced trials and scrambles rider soon became bitten by the desert racing bug and started to compete in tough races. In 1971, he placed 14th out of 3200 riders in the gruelling Barstow to Vegas Hare & Hounds desert race. In his honour, AJS Motorcycles has just released a modern scrambler that bears the moniker '71 Scrambler. This is the back-story.
