Where and how to apply vaginal estrogen

We get this question all the time! Vaginal estrogen is typically inserted in the vagina and helps to acidify the tissue to prevent infection. But is there any benefit to using vaginal estrogen products (like Estrace cream) on the external genitals, like the urethra, vestibule, or labia minora?
