Episode 1329 Len (Peter Adamson) and Ken (Bill Roache) retreat to No.9 for a chat. Ken explains to Len there was nothing between him & Rita and that he just enjoyed her company. Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) again considers leaving the yard. Jerry (Graham Haberfield) is horrified to find Mavis (Thelma Barlow) wearing Rita’s necklace and worries she has a secret admirer. Rita and Janet (Judith Barker) go looking for Len and Ken, only to find them drunk. Janet isn’t happy when Len blurts out what happened between Ken and Rita. Ernie (Stephen Hancock) persuades Ena (Violet Carson) and Minnie (Margot Bryant) to share the Community Centre duties until Minnie’s stint as caretaker is over. The £2,000 that Weatherfield Plastics owe the yard still remains unpaid. Rita invites Len for dinner, only for him to bring Ken and Janet in the hope of clearing the air. The evening goes well, and Ken tells Janet that he’d like her to meet the twins.
