How to Sow Breadseed Poppies, Why to Grow Poppies for Cut Flowers + Favorite Poppy Varieties
How to sow breadseed poppies (Papaver somniferum). In late winter or early spring prepare the planting area by raking it until the soil is loose and crumbly. Breadseed poppies prefer full sun and loose, well-draining soil. Direct seed into the prepared area and do not cover with soil. Breadseed poppies need light to germinate. Keep the planting area evenly moist until germination occurs in about 14-21 days. Thin to 8-12 inches apart in spring. My favorite watering can - https://amzn.to/3EEP84G
