Las Vegas businesses call for action as Chinatown car break-ins continue

Business owners in Las Vegas’ Chinatown say they’re growing frustrated as thieves continue breaking into vehicles parked outside their businesses, leaving customers with shattered windows, stolen valuables and, in some cases, lost passports. Owners say the crimes have become so common that they’re now happening almost every week, raising concerns about the area’s reputation as businesses continue to battle slower tourism and reduced foot traffic. Sarah Sorrells, owner of Claw World USA, said she regularly watches thieves target vehicles in parking lots, often stealing valuables in less than 20 seconds before driving away.
