TORKER THE 1970s BMX LEGEND IS BACK!

After unboxing the brand-new Torker LP20 and MX26 framesets with Brad Fanshaw on the Super Rad BMX Podcast, it was finally time to bring one of those bikes to life. Over the following months, I tracked down the right vintage-inspired parts and carefully assembled the Torker MX26 into a race-ready cruiser. With Dirty Fest 2026 just around the corner, I finished the build just in time to line up in the 60 & Over Open class. In this video, you'll see the complete build from start to finish, get my thoughts on how the Torker MX26 performs on the track, and hear what it was like racing against BMX legend Stu Thomsen. Before we head to the starting gate, we'll also take a quick look at the history of one of BMX's most legendary brands. Founded in Southern California in 1976, Torker BMX quickly became one of the premier names in BMX racing. Best known for its innovative LP (Low Profile) frame and championship-winning factory team, Torker helped define the sport during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The company also played a major role in BMX history by building the original Bob Haro Freestyler, helping launch the sport of freestyle BMX. Today, Torker has returned to its racing roots under the leadership of Bill Ryan and Torker Racing, producing faithful recreations of its classic race bikes for a new generation of riders while honoring the brand's legendary heritage. If you're a fan of vintage BMX, classic race bikes, BMX history, or bike restorations, this video is for you. 👍 If you enjoyed this video, please Like, Subscribe, and Ring the Bell so you don't miss future Radmattic videos featuring vintage BMX restorations, racing, bike history, and interviews with BMX legends.
