UTV Tire Testing at Sand Hollow - Rock Crawling Side by Sides. Polaris vs KRX

This week we headed to Sand Hollow to see how 2 very similar tires do on the same trail. The Obor are 34x15 “Predator” tires, and the System 3 are the 33x15 XCR350. Neither are a “rock specific” tire, but seem to both have a medium/soft compound, and a nice, flat top - allowing for more rubber contact on the ground. Both come in at well under 50 lbs, which is impressive. We often run the Maxxis Roxxzilla “soft compound” also called “competition compound” and it does exceptional at Sand Hollow, but we are realizing that they are harder on parts because of the extreme traction and added weight, specifically for the non-turbo Polaris General. This test was mainly done to find the “ultimate rock tire” for the General. Spoiler alert - they’re VERY similar! We’d recommend both - just choose whichever you like the look of, and whichever size you prefer. Obor doesn’t make a 33, and S3 doesn’t make a 34 (but they do have a 35 and 36).
