Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World features a new monster collection system that lets players capture, evolve, and battle more than 200 monsters. A large number of new and familiar series characters also join the fray. » Set two years after its award-winning predecessor, Dawn of the New World introduces two new young heroes: Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi, who set out to uncover the cause of a catastrophic change in their world. As they cross paths with beloved characters like Lloyd, Colette, and Sheena, they also encounter a spirit known as Ratatosk, Lord of All Monsters. He grants them incredible new powers over fearsome creatures now roaming the land. For the first time in the "Tales of" series, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World features a brand-new gameplay system that allows players to capture more than 200 unique monsters to battle. Players can feed these monsters to make them more powerful and even evolve them into various, even more terrifying forms. Up to three monsters can be brought into battle, providing unique support against enemies and adding new strategic depth to the series' signature real-time combat system. Long, long ago, the world was split in two by order of Heaven, but its original state was restored by the Chosen One of Renewal. A new World Tree was planted in place of the colossal Kharlan Tree that had been destroyed. The reunification of the new world was the birth of the new Chaos. Before the world was reunited, the world of Tethe'alla flourished, while the world of Sylvarant declined. This divide in civilization eventually drove people apart. The two main characters: Emil Castagnier: He lost his parents in the Blood Purge in the city of Palamcosta. He is straightforward and so innocent that he believes everything he is told. He is actually a coward and not particularly successful at things that require great willpower. Marta Lualdi: Marta is a girl who lost her mother when the Great Tree ravaged the world. She is determined, fearlessly makes her voice heard, and is only satisfied when she can consider the bigger picture. She hates Colette, who killed her mother, and Lloyd, who attacked Palmacosta.
