A busy week-long vacation: We had many guests, and most importantly, we did something useful. We bought foam rubber, adjusted the dimensions to fit the trunk, and ended up with a berth in the trunk of a LADA Granta Cross (station wagon) measuring 170x95 cm (width including the wheel arches). The foam rubber cost 3,400 rubles at the hardware store, and the fabric for the cover was free (my grandmother had plenty of fabric). We tried sleeping in the trunk two years ago, but the floor wouldn't level out even with the seats removed, leaving lumbar ridges. 10 cm of foam rubber hid all the defects.
