Your Soul Never Dies. Your body is just clothing. In Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, verses 2.13–2.24 (Sankhya Yoga), Lord Krishna reveals one of the most powerful truths of Sanatan Dharma: the Atma (soul) is eternal, and the body is temporary. 🔹 2.13 – Changing bodies, same soul Krishna explains that just as the embodied soul passes from childhood to youth to old age within a single lifetime, at death it simply moves on to another body. The wise do not grieve over this natural journey. 🔹 2.14–2.15 – Tolerating happiness and distress The contact of senses with objects produces heat–cold, pleasure–pain, honor–dishonor — like changing seasons. Krishna urges Arjuna to tolerate these dualities without being disturbed, because the one who remains steady in both becomes fit for liberation. 🔹 2.16–2.20 – The eternal vs the temporary Those who truly see reality conclude: the non-existent (body) has no endurance, and the eternal (soul) has no cessation. The soul pervading the body is avināśi (indestructible), unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. 🔹 2.21–2.24 – Unbreakable, unburnable, undryable soul One who knows the soul as indestructible, unborn and immutable cannot think of killing, nor can he be truly killed. Krishna compares the soul changing bodies to a person changing old garments for new ones.
