Hey everyone, today's video is about the time when Lenny Bruce and George Carlin were both arrested at the Gate of Horn Nightclub in Chicago, Illinois on December 5th, 1962. George Carlin was attending Lenny Bruce's show with his wife Brenda and Lenny had been arrested for violating obscenity laws while onstage, and then shortly thereafter George Carlin refused to show a cop his ID and was arrested and taken to jail in the same police cruiser as Lenny Bruce. This is a legendary story that certainly played a role in the counterculture movement of the 1960's and also helped inspire the free speech movement that started at UC Berkley in 1964.
