Whenever I’m in London, there’s one food I cannot skip — a proper Cantonese roast duck 🦆. This time, I made my way across the city all the way to Bayswater to visit the famous Gold Mine Restaurant, a well-known Cantonese restaurant that has been serving authentic Chinese cuisine since 2006. Even though it was far from where I stayed, I still went… because people say this is one of the best roast duck spots in London. And honestly? I had to find out for myself. 🍽️ What we ordered: • Stir-fried vegetables • Mixed platter (Roast Duck, Roast Pork, BBQ Pork / Char Siu) 🔥 The highlight? Roast Duck. No competition. The skin was perfectly crispy, the meat was tender and juicy, and every bite was packed with deep, rich flavour. It was so good we actually ordered a second plate. The roast pork was decent, but nothing too special. The char siu (BBQ pork) was a bit underwhelming — you can definitely find better elsewhere in London.
