Carrick Bend - 2 Versions of the Carrick Bend - How to Tie the Carrick Bend 🛠 The Carrick Bend is a superb may of joining two similar sized ropes together. Once you have mastered the technique of tying the Carrick Bed, it is really fast and easy to do. The Carrick Bend is extremely secure even if the rope is wet and slippery. Also the other great feature of this bend is, it is relatively easy to undo even if it has been under extreme loading. There are 256 different variations of the Carrick Bend. In this video I demonstrate two variation. In the first version of the Carrick Bend, you will notice that the working ends exit the Carrick Bend on the same side. Now this version is less safe and should not be used except for decorative knotting. The second version of the Carrick Bend is the Safe/Secure Carrick Bend and this is the safest of all the version. In this version you will note that the working ends exit diagonally opposite from the actual knot.
