#JackScouts: DJ Vinny Da Vinci

This is Vinny Da Vinci, one of SA's most well known and loved house DJs, who has been spinning the decks since the early 90s. In '98, he and DJ Christos formed DJs At Work, a project with which they intended to change the face of music in South Africa. The subsequent releases of five critically acclaimed, platinum selling albums as well as a slew of iconic DJ mixes are proof that they achieved what they set out to do. Vinny also became a partner and later director of House Afrika Records, contributing to the CD collection 'Fresh House Flava's Volume 1', mixed by DJ Fresh and still regarded as one of South Africa's best house mixes. Vinny is not only renowned for his deep house sounds as a DJ. He was also a co-owner and promoter of one of South Africa's most popular nightclubs - Club Carnalita, where he has overseen the rise of the new generation of top SA DJs. Since his early days in clubs like Cherry's, Club Gemini and The Arena In Hillbrow during a period of radical political and musical change, Vinny has moved on to the world stage, performing at Pacha, On party island Ibiza and the annual Winter Music Conference in Miami. Having shared the stage with huge international names, including Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer and Jazzy Jeff, Vinny continues to specialize in his patented deep house style, continually breaking new music and educating his audience along the Way. Da Vinci forms part of an elite trio of musical legends together with Mandla 'Spikiri' Mofokeng and T-BO Touch -- all whom have followed their own authentic path to success. The trio have partnered with Jack Daniels to become the official Jack Daniels Music Scouts to continue Uncle Jack's undying love affair with music by helping showcase up-and‐coming artists creating their own authentic sounds.
