Task 45 aims to provide the knowledge and framework necessary to accelerate the market uptake of Large Thermal Energy Storage (LTES) technologies — including Pit (PTES), Borehole (BTES), Tank (TTES), and Aquifer (ATES) Thermal Energy Storage. Webinar 3 gave insights into new developments in Large Thermal Energy Storage as well as into the main phases of example projects, such as feasibility, design, implementation, and monitoring, including updates on projects in Mine-TES (Germany), Aquifer-TES (numerical simulation, Germany), Cavern-TES (Switzerland), Borehole-TES (Sweden and Switzerland), and Pit-TES (Germany).
