Today we had a mission, however, to taste some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, and boy did we ever! We started our food tour of Fez, Morocco at a local barbeque shop grilling up meat, offal, and cow heart. The cow heart he prepared was extremely large! We tasted some flavourful meats and extreme dishes, we couldn’t get over the size of the cow heart! Walking around looking for flavourful, tasty, and delicious street foods in Fes was an easy task. We tasted some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, trying snails, camel spleen stuffed with beef, lamb, and chicken, and dried meats. On our food tour of Fez, Morocco we stopped at a steamed sheep head stall, where we had half a sheep head, and we ate everything! Eating a steamed sheep head can be daunting because it looks back at you, but the sheep head meat is extremely tender and flavourful, so worth the stares. We rounded out our extreme food tour in Fes trying the famous Fassi dish of pigeon pastilla. This traditional extreme Moroccan street food was on our bucket list to try, and it was even more tasty than we imagined. This needs to be on your top list of foods to eat in Fes, Morocco.
