BRENTA, PASCOLI DI PRADA: LA PECORA CUSTODE DEL PAESAGGIO

We reach the pastures of Prada in the municipality of San Lorenzo Dorsino, beneath the Brenta Dolomites, to tell the story of Ivan Sandrini, a shepherd who moves from the Po Valley up to the high mountains with his flock of over 1,000 sheep. Ivan continues the tradition of transhumance, the seasonal migration of livestock between lowland and mountain pastures, to maximize food resources. This ancient pastoral practice, now a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, is deeply rooted in the land and its traditions.
