In the heart of Taranto, the city that in one year will welcome thousands of athletes from three continents and 26 nations, a memorable ceremony was held on August 21, marking the official start of the countdown to the XX Mediterranean Games. The evening opened with speeches from the key figures of the organization: the Extraordinary Commissioner and President of the Organizing Committee, Massimo Ferrarese; the President of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Davide Tizzano; the Mayor of Taranto, Piero Bitetti; and the General Director of the Games, Carlo Molfetta.
