Brilhart mouthpieces on Conn New Wonder tenor sax

A comparison between 5 Brilhart mouthpieces and two Brilhart style mouthpieces played on a 1924 Conn New Wonder. They share the same chamber design to some extend with straight sidewalls. The Phil-Tone Orion is the only one made from hard rubber, the others are made of plastic. 1. (0:00) Brilhart Great Neck 5* with a Regal Queen 3,5 reed 2. (1:45) Brilhart Ebolin 3 (50's/60's Carlsbad era) with a Local 627 #3 reed 3. (3:32) Brilhart Ebolin 9* (no serial #). RJS 3H reed. This is a later production probably from the 70's or 80's. 4. (5:20) Brilhart Streamline 5 (1950's). RJS 3H reed 5. (7:04) Brilhart Streamline 7* (1960's). Vandoren Java 2,5 reed 6. (8:49) Phil-Tone Orion 7*. Regal Queen 2,5 reed. The chamber design is based on a '50's Brilhart Tonalin. I believe that in this case the * has nothing to do with a short facing, but refers to the tip opening like an Otto Link 7* (.105) 7.
