פרשת שבוע I בלק I הכוח הרוחני הבלתי מעורער של עם ישראל . עם לאה טל זהר
The Parsha of Balak is one of the deepest and most mysterious parshas in the Torah. It reveals the struggle between fear and faith, between mystical power and an unchangeable divine blessing. Through the characters of Balaam, the priest with spiritual powers, and Balak, the king of Moab who is driven by fear, we learn about the meaning of fear in our lives, about attempts to change reality through external means, and about the understanding that providence works even when we are unaware of it. The parsha presents how the people of Israel are blessed and protected, even when a powerful spiritual struggle is taking place behind the scenes – and the people themselves are not even aware of it. A fascinating lesson about faith, the power of words, and the understanding that fear can blind – but blessing is stronger than that. 00:00 – 00:16:00 — Opening of the Parsha and Balak’s Fear This section presents the beginning of the Parsha of Balak: Balak sees the people of Israel approaching and is terrified by their power. He understands that Israel is no ordinary people — they pass through nations and kingdoms without sophisticated weapons, and so he seeks a mystical solution. Here begins the fear that drives the entire episode: a fear that leads to manipulation, lack of judgment, and a search for a spiritual power that can “stop” Israel. 00:16:00 – 00:31:00 — Balaam, Balak’s messengers, and the night’s conversations with the divine In this section, Balaam receives Balak’s messengers, asks them to stay for the night, and turns to God. The first revelation forbids him to go and forbids him to curse Israel. Balak sends more important messengers and offers wealth and honor. Balaam hesitates, asks for another night, and an internal paradox is revealed: is he obedient to God — or is his heart drawn to temptation. 00:31:00 – 00:39:30 — The Departure, God’s Anger, and the Story of the Donkey In this section, God permits Balaam to go — but only according to His word. Balaam interprets this as full permission and sets off. God’s anger is aroused, the angel of existence stands in the way “to Satan himself,” and the donkey sees the angel while Balaam sees nothing. The donkey saves his life, and Balaam understands that the stop was a protection. This is a profound message about stops in life: not every delay is a punishment — sometimes it is a salvation. 00:39:30 – 00:47:00 — Balaam’s Blessings, Balak’s Trials, and the Concluding Spiritual Message In this section, Balaam blesses Israel instead of cursing — three times. Balak changes places, angles, and rituals, but nothing works. Balaam is amazed by the blessed people and expresses a desire to be part of them. The parasha ends with a spiritual message: fear distorts reality, faith straightens it, and the people are completely unaware of the spiritual struggle that is taking place "behind the curtain" — but divine protection is at work nonetheless.
