10 MOMENTOS HISTORICOS Sobre LA ERA DE APOCALIPSIS

Although we may have some reservations today about what happened in superhero comics during the 1990s, it's undeniable that this period was extremely productive for the X-Men. During this time, the best-selling comic of all time was released, the one with Jim Lee's iconic quadruple cover, whose aesthetic would inspire the famous X-Men animated series. From this same period also emerged the monumental event "The Age of Apocalypse," which is still considered by many readers to be one of the most outstanding X-Men narratives in their entire history. However, what exactly was "The Age of Apocalypse" and what triggered this saga? #generalculture #marvelcomics #xmen Channel dedicated to nerd culture. Thank you for your support and trust! THE AGE OF APOCALYPSE Without Professor X's guidance, the formation of the X-Men took several years longer than originally planned. Even when they finally reunited under Magneto's leadership, these X-Men failed to achieve the same effectiveness attributed to them in the 616 timeline. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Apocalypse launched multiple attacks across North America. With virtually no resistance, he and his Loyal Knights seized control of much of the United States, a situation that persists to this day. What was once known as the United States is now fragmented and ruled by Apocalypse's most loyal followers. Apocalypse himself directly ruled most of the East Coast, while the rest of the planet was not spared his devastating effects either. The despotic regime he established in the US government over a span of ten years destabilized the global economy and created power vacuums worldwide. Most heroes were annihilated, corrupted, or never even existed. The apocalypse didn't just devastate a single continent; it plunged the world into profound and heartbreaking chaos. LEGION In 1995, Legion, the mutated son of Professor Charles Xavier, emerges from a coma with a clear desire: to fulfill his father's wishes, regardless of the consequences. He concludes that to achieve this, he must eliminate Xavier's greatest enemy. Thus, using his immense psionic powers, Legion travels back in time to assassinate the young Magneto. However, in a shocking twist, he inadvertently ends up killing his own father. This action plunges the entire world into the "Age of Apocalypse," a distorted version of the world as we knew it, where all our worst nightmares become tragically real. MAGNETO AND ROGUE The unexpected wedding between Magneto and Rogue represents one of the most surprising twists in the Age of Apocalypse timeline. One moment, Rogue and Gambit were sharing passionate kisses in the desert, and the next, Rogue was married to Magneto and had a child with him. How did this happen? Let's just say this situation could be considered a prime example of a change in the course of events. Gambit, in fact, brought his beloved Rogue to Magneto and his X-Men, hoping to find a way for them to touch each other. Magneto then discovered that it was possible to create a microscopic field that allowed him to have physical contact with Rogue. However, this wasn't the event that sparked their relationship. During a dangerous mission, Magneto's daughter, the Scarlet Witch, was critically injured. Since part of her mind already resided in Rogue, Wanda expressed her dying wish: that Rogue take care of Magneto. Ultimately, Rogue chose to abandon Gambit in favor of Magneto, and the rest became a peculiar, awkward, and, in some ways, inappropriate story.
