Words and Pictures: W (1997) - FULL EPISODE

A worried wolf hangs out his wet washing in the whirling wind - and Sophie Aldred is on hand to sing about whether the weather outside her window will be good or bad. It's the letter W, of course! A W with a superfluous flick, no less. The most interesting part of this episode is when three young friends show us how grain is turned into flour at a windmill (which is all very well, even if it's not quite pink enough for my tastes). Tying in, the story is The Wind Blew by Pat Hutchins, and we end on the song A Windmill in Old Amsterdam - one you will recognise, even if you didn't realise that was the title.
