Northampton Dunelm fire 1 year on

On 31st May 2025 a fire destroyed the Dunelm store at Nene Valley Retail Park, on Towcester Road, Northampton. We start with a brief look at the scene the following morning, with the Fire Brigade still on site. We then see demolition work is under way in December 2025. Finally we see the site on 31st May 2026, 1 year after the fire, where rebuilding work has started. A boy who was 15 years old at the time of the fire was charged in connection with the incident. He was later found to be unfit to plead, due to mental health issues, and the case against him was dismissed.
