China’s ‘ice boy’ gets new home, but family still struggles to make ends meet

His family could not afford to buy him a hat to cover his head on his daily hour-long trek to school. Stories about the “ice boy” touched the hearts of people around the world, and many sent donations to help Wang and his family. A year after first meeting him, South China Morning Post video producer Tom Wang caught up with the “ice boy” and found out that while the young student and his family have a new home, they still struggle to make ends meet.
