Lifting the Curtain: Emily’s Wish: Part 8….

The next day, Donald visits Henry at the works where he tells him about what’s happening with Bear's mishaps and his suspicions of Dudley. Henry realizes that Dudley is up to no good and warns Donald that he has to inform Sir Topham Hatt about this before Bear gets in more trouble or worse be asked to leave the North Western Railway, recounting what happened when Diesel visited the railway and what he did to Duck. Donald and Emily goes to the shed where they find Bear sitting alone feeling depressed. Donald comforts the sad diesel and tells him that Henry believes him, cheering him up and Emily told him that she loves him very much. The 3 start coming up with a plan to expose Dudley's true colors. The next day, Dudley was resting in the shed where he heard Bear and Donald discussing a VIP train and Bear pretends to get ready for the "special guest". Dudley overhears this of course, and follows Bear to a siding where he blocks him in by putting some trucks on the points while he’s pretending to sleep. As soon as Dudley left, Bear laughed to himself, knowing that Dudley took the bait. Dudley soon started searching the yard for the VIP train until he heard a voice calling for him. He followed the voice into a siding, only to discover Toad, the Brake Van. Dudley was cross that the VIP train wasn’t there, but he was even more cross because Emily blocked his way with some coaches she shunted, but was suddenly surprised when Bear came in. Dudley asks him how he got out of the siding, only for Donald to show up too, revealing that he helped him and asks Dudley how he knew about this. Dudley stutters attempting to explain, before Sir Topham Hatt stepped out of Toad, demanding to know the truth. Dudley suddenly admits what he was really up to, while continuing to slander Bear, calling him a "rat"; this made him tell that he proved his worth and questioned that he wouldn't send an engine to his demise. While Sir Topham Hatt agreed that he wouldn’t sent an engine to his end, he still decided that Dudley isn’t welcome on his railway and decided to send him back to BR, much to Dudley’s horror. Sir Topham Hatt told him that deceit has no place on the railway and that he welcomes any engine, steam or diesel, who is both useful and honest in their work. He suggested that Dudley should change his ways if he wants to be preserved and politely asked him to leave. Dudley follows this request, but not before he laughs and talks back to Sir Topham Hatt, telling him that perhaps the North Western Railway wasn't any different after all. He retorted at Topham for calling his behavior deceit when he saw it as survival. He then admitted defeat when he told Topham that he won the battle, but he hasn't won the war. The last thing he said to Topham before he left was that he will remember him, he pushed Topham and Toad near the edge of the cliff and Emily was quick in a flash to rescue them from falling. And with that, Donald and Bear moved forward, freeing Dudley from the siding he was trapped, with Toad bidding him a "pleasant journey". He gritted his teeth in response, with Topham holding his laughter to maintain his composure. Toad thanked Emily for her bravery, much to her relief. As the sun began to set later that day, Dudley then took a long goods train as he leaves Sodor from where he came, back to BR. Bear felt a bit of sympathy for Dudley as he leaves, which is that no engine wanted to face the fate of being scrapped, despite being abused by him. He wondered if Dudley will ever change, but between him and Donald, the chances of Dudley redeeming himself seemed unlikely.
