Horror Cross Havoc | A HORROR HOLIDAY VERIFIED

I have way too much to say about this mode. I've been beta testing Horror Cross Havoc for almost 3 whole years now, I've seen it go through a game engine change, a dozen different character and mechanic changes, and probably a hundred different balancing adjustments, the majority of which I suggested. I've loved this game as a whole for a long time, but this mode especially has been my baby for the past six months of my life. I'm so happy to have finally conquered it, and even more excited to see others play it. I could ramble about the gameplay itself for ages. I spent a while getting the base roster to fit together as nicely as I could, and it resulted in the most fluid, enjoyable gameplay I've had the joy of experiencing in any sort of custom night game. Of course, as my runs started to get further and further into the night, I eventually discovered the secret characters. It took a little bit of tweaking, but I think they fit in very well as well, with a good range of added difficulty and mechanics between them. Another reason why I like this mode is that I think it has an enormous amount of skill expression and room to improve at it. Learning strategies to avoid hits from various chaser characters while doing objectives, using familiar timings and quick door movement to manipulate character spawns to your advantage, knowing how to use the knife to slip through and stall enemies, and knowing when to break off the clockwise route and adjust your priorities. These are all super important skills that even now I know I haven't hit the ceiling on. This run is by no means optimized, and I can only wonder at how far this game will be taken by players more skilled than I. As for this run specifically, its honestly not that crazy? I felt kinda weird and unconfident at the start, so I played very casual and messy, taking the wrong first Raprat and way more damage than I should've, but once I was a few minutes in I noticed that I was pressing buttons fairly fast and got into the groove of things. By some miracle, I honestly felt zero nerves all the way up until the 19 minute mark, upon which I accidentally selected no health regen on Raprat and realized I was in an awful position, but I managed to play really well and keep myself alive, only taking the few hit-tanks I knew I absolutely could. I'm honestly really happy with the last few minutes of the night, I managed to sneak in the last Mr. Mix which I was a little worried about, I made some really smart route adjustments from 17 minutes onward, and I got a super crazy lucky final Rex combination that I knew I had zero chance of messing up. As for time taken and how difficult I feel it is, I honestly don't have any real answers. I have a bit over 24 hours of pure AHH footage recorded, but I didn't start recording until I had a PB of around 8 or 10 minutes I believe, and that also ignores the time spent working up to AHH, as well as the many hours spent playing older versions of the game. The next hardest Max Mode that I have played a respectable amount of is T27, and this definitely clears that, but it's impossible for me personally to say by how much. That's another thing that I will be happy to see more info on as the wider public gives it a try and more victors emerge. I suppose that's enough said for now. Many thanks to everyone who helped shape this game and support my long and slow grind of this mode. By the time this video has finished premiering, it should be out and available to play. Please do give it a try when you can. Huge thanks to ⁨‪@birdbonanza9407‬ for editing this video, making the thumbnail, inviting me to beta test, and, of course, making this game. It's been a hell of time and I'm so proud of us both. You can get the game for yourself here: https://gamejolt.com/games/horrorcros...
