No Boat, Brutal Flies... But Gander Lake Had Trout!

I headed over 20 km up an old dirt road into the Newfoundland backcountry hoping for a trout fishing trip and a good old boil up… but the day went sideways fast. The plan was to launch the boat at Twin Ponds, catch a few trout, and cook up a feed outdoors. But once I got there, I realized the boat plug was missing, so that ended the boat plan pretty quick. After trying a few small streams and beaver ponds, I changed plans and headed to Gander Lake. The flies and mosquitoes were absolutely brutal, but somehow Gander Lake still gave up some trout. It turned into a real Newfoundland outdoor adventure — no boat, brutal flies, forgotten gear, a few trout, and a boil up that never really happened because I forgot the pot and had nothing to light the stove with. Sometimes the best outdoor trips are the ones that go completely wrong. Thanks for watching and coming along.
