In the earthquake, which measured 5.7 on the Richter scale yesterday in Kaynarpınar village, the epicenter of the earthquake, security guard Cengiz Pullu, a father of four, was martyred after being trapped in the rubble of the collapsed watchtower of the Kaynarpınar Gendarmerie Station. A farewell ceremony was held for Martyr Pullu in front of the Ulu Mosque in the Karlıova district center, attended by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum, Bingöl Governor Kadir Ekinci, AK Party Deputy Chairman Cevdet Yılmaz, AK Party Bingöl Deputy Feyzi Berdibek, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Enver İskurt, AFAD President Mehmet Güllüoğlu, the martyr's relatives, his comrades-in-arms, and numerous others. In his speech, Oktay delivered a message of unity and solidarity, saying: "While standing guard for his homeland, his nation, and his homeland, he is returning to God with martyrdom while on duty. This is the return of our brother Cengiz Pullu. May God grant us such a return, God willing. We witnessed his martyrdom. May God accept his martyrdom. OKTAY CONSOLES MARTYR'S WIFE Following his speech, Vice President Oktay hugged the coffin of Cengiz Pullu, the wife of the martyr, and tried to comfort Sevim Pullu, who was in tears. Oktay then, along with Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, shouldered the coffin containing the martyr's remains and carried it to the hearse.
