To say this one got us would be an understatement, by the end of this one we had both just totally lost it 😭😭 Beautiful story, Japan and it's amazing traditions and culture are front and centre just like they were for Shogun and we just loved it so much! The Last Samurai is a 2003 American epic period action drama film directed and produced by Edward Zwick, who also co-wrote the screenplay with John Logan and Marshall Herskovitz from a story devised by Logan. The film stars Tom Cruise, who also produced, along with Timothy Spall, Ken Watanabe, Billy Connolly, Tony Goldwyn, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Koyuki Kato in supporting roles.
