Abandoned HO Train Collection - Does Any Still Work?

A few weeks ago a friend of my mothers was digging through some boxes and ended up finding a train set. There isn't much backstory on it however it's clearly been setting for decades. There were three different locomotives, one of which being unpowered as well as a bunch of different buildings and rolling stock. Many things are not in the best shape but could very well still be useful.
