Kwale Sacred Kaya Forests Set for Revival in Ksh30m Climate Change Funding
The sacred Kaya forests in Kwale County, long threatened by land grabbing, deforestation and declining water sources, may soon be restored under a new Sh30 million climate action project. The initiative, Sikiliza Sauti Yetu, Dunia Inaita funded by the European Union through WeWorld, aims to mitigate climate change impacts and revive the degraded forest ecosystems that are vital for cultural heritage and local water supply.
