Sánchez didn't need to lift a finger publicly. It was enough for his wife to submit that request, tied to her own official trip. It was an elegant way to put Peinado between a rock and a hard place: either give in and weaken your own ruling, or stand firm and be made the villain for preventing the president's wife from accompanying him to an international summit. The substitute judge saw it clearly. He authorized the trip to London, a family event with good judicial cooperation with the United Kingdom, but closed the door to Turkey. Begoña Gómez is not actively involved there, and the country is not part of the European area of ​​judicial cooperation. With this partial decision, he dismantled the main trap without falling into the political one. Sánchez has tried to use his wife as a judicial battering ram against an inconvenient judge.
