Kartik Swami Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Kartikeya, the son of Shiva and Parvati. The temple is located at an altitude of about 3,050 meters (10,000 feet) in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. According to Hindu tradition, Lord Kartikeya offered his bones to his father, Lord Shiva, at this sacred place as a symbol of devotion and sacrifice. The temple is therefore considered highly sacred by devotees. Visitors reach the temple after a scenic 3–3.5 km trek through forests and mountain trails.
