Half The Range But More Power? (Toyota 300 Series LandCruiser Hybrid 2026 Review)

Toyota Australia has pulled the wraps off its Landcruiser 300 Series HEV petrol-electric hybrid and Chasing Cars has driven it! Labelled a “performance hybrid” by Toyota, the LC300 is powered by a similar powertrain to the current Tundra pick-up. So it fits a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6 with an electric motor upstream before the 10-speed auto. This format, marketed as the i-Force Max and expected to produce as much as 340kW and 790Nm in Aussie guise, is quite different to Toyota’s usual passenger car series-parallel hybrid systems in the likes of Kluger. It arrives in Australia in the first half of 2026 and will be offered in two five-seat variant grades - GR Sport and Sahara ZX - with price tags respectively higher than those currently for the 3.3-litre diesel versions.
