After recording Con la conciencia tranquila in 1997, the Élite lost the great pianist Sergio Noroña, replacing him with Pepe Rivero, who had been Issac's tecladista but who would leave a few months later to become Issac's pianist). Yaniel "El Majá" Matos joined at that point (about May, 1998) Other than the pianists, the huge change was the gradual addition of a third timba gear - a type of masacote that Tomasito called "songo con efectos".
