How to Paint a Concrete Swimming Pool

I, Jan Addams (DAT Girl), and my hubby Glen decided to take on the challenge of repairing the plaster on our outdoor 16 x 32' concrete pool and paint and instead of re-plastering (which was too costly) using Hi-Build Epoxy paint (you must wear proper PPE "Personal Protection Equipment" - ie disposable paint clothes, gloves and a respirator as the paint has extremely high fumes!) Mermaid Approved (watch the end... as my ultra-ego "Mermaid Jan" comes out to play :) I go from Pirate Gear to Mermaid Tail) SKIP to 5:35 on the video if you want a 12-step list of what to do. LINKS of Products and Help we researched: How to Prep a concrete swimming pool before painting http://www.ramucpoolpaint.com/media/1...    • Ramuc Pool Paint Application - AmeriMerc.com   The Pool Paint we used was Ramuc Hi-Build Epoxy http://www.ramucpoolpaint.com/ We bought our paint from Dulux Paints in Coquitlam, BC - Mike Cody, the Store Manager, was incredibly helpful! (NOTE: We ordered 8 because of the Ramuc paint site recommendation but only used 5 kits (2 gallons per kit) and were able to get 4 coats of coverage!) When we weren't sure why clean water was coming out of our Main Drain - Imperial Pools told us it was 'groundwater' and our hydro-static value was releasing the pressure (oh, it also needed to be changed - yikes!) NOTE: This was not a job I would recommend for the average pool owner. Hire Help!
