The grave of Keith Relf, 50 years after his death
today I am visiting the grave of Keith Relf, He was the lead vocalist and harmonica player for the iconic rock band The Yardbirds, lived and tragically died in his home located in Whitton, Greater London (within the London Borough of Hounslow). The Incident: On 12 May 1976, at the age of 33, Relf was in his basement studio working on new tracks for a reunion He was tragically electrocuted while playing an electric guitar that was improperly grounded. The electrical current travelled from the faulty equipment through his body because he was standing on an ungrounded metal gas pipe.Health Factors: Relf suffered from chronic health issues, including asthma and emphysema, which authorities noted heavily contributed to his body's inability to survive the severe electric shock. #theyardbirds #keithrelf #rockband #tragicdeaths
