Severn Valley Railway Winter Steam Gala | 4th January 2025

Welcome to my first video of 2025, and the first video for Rail 200 the bicentenary for railways of Great Britain invented by George Stephenson in 1825! In this video, we visit the Severn Valley Railway in Worcestershire and Shropshire between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth for their annual Winter Steam Gala, with the return of GWR Auto Tank Engine no. 1450 after 10 years of overhaul. We begin at Birmingham New Street Station by looking at the Rail 200 posters along the station wall before heading for Birmingham Moor Street Station to catch a WMR train to Kidderminster for the Severn Valley Railway at Kidderminster Town Station. We then ride from Kidderminster Town to Bridgnorth and back behind Auto Tank 1450 on the front window of the train with lots of snowy, frosty and misty views along the Valley, then we connect with another train from Kidderminster Town to Bewdley and do a bit of train spotting at Bewdley Station, and lastly we head back from Bewdley to Kidderminster Town to watch the departure of BR Standard 4 no. 75069 wearing the "Rail 200" headboard.
