He was captivated by the sound of the quena he heard while studying at the University of Tsukuba, and dedicated himself to playing it. After completing his graduate studies at the University of Tsukuba, he traveled to South America, where the instrument originated, and later became a junior high school teacher. However, his strong passion for the quena led him to turn professional as a quena player in April 2008 and begin full-fledged performances. He continues to pursue his unique style, incorporating elements of South American folk music, tango, jazz, pop, and Japanese music, through performances at the World Heritage Site Nikko Toshogu Shrine and collaborations with Tokiko Kato and Ken Tanaka. In addition to eight albums, in 2015 he released his original song "Strawberry Song," with lyrics written by Tokiko Kato, as a single CD to support Tochigi Prefecture's JA Tochiotome. As one of Japan's few quena players, he is active in a wide range of fields, including concerts across the country, composing original songs, recording, quena classes, and quena production. In December 2014, he was appointed Ashikaga City's tourism ambassador, "Ashikaga Shining Ambassador," and in October 2015, he was appointed Tochigi Prefecture's tourism ambassador, "Tochigi Future Ambassador."
