Informal comments to the media by Beate Meini-Reisinger, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Austria, on Election of non-permanent members of the Security Council for the term 2027-2028. Talking to reporters outside the GA Hall, Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger said, “we are facing an incredible, decisive moment in global history. Geopolitical confrontations are on the rise, while our common rules and norms are increasingly challenged. These or this threatens the security of many countries around the world, not least also our own security in Europe.” Meinl-Reisinger added that Austria “has always been one of those countries that believes that the rule of law prevails, instead of what might makes right.”
