Geophysics - Seismic: Static anomalies in reflection seismic data
We discuss travel-time anomalies produced by near-surface low velocity weathered zones and variable topographic relief. These features produce travel-time anomalies often referred to as static anomalies because the delays are common to all deeper events viewed through this near surface lens.
